The demand for effective therapeutic strategies for AF is anticipated to increase substantially as the proportion of the elderly population increases[4, 3]. The goal of this challenge is to study the changes in rhythm during the final minutes or seconds of spontaneously terminating (paroxysmal) AF (PAF) to gain understanding of the mechanisms underlying spontaneous termination[5]. Current rhythm rate control strategies face serious lim- itations.
