Abstract: . . . wilderness. Alberto became increasingly involved in camping ministry, and encouraged by Bob Sabean, later Co-ordinator of CCI/Latin America, worked with others to develop Kikoten as the outstanding rural facility for churches and Christian groups that it is today. Alberto also promoted CCI throughout Latin America and served as CCI/Latin Americas president for several years. "This is a tremendous loss for Milamex and for Camp Kikoten," said Milamex director- founder Juan M. Isais. "But we are certain that God has a purpose even in this tragedy, and praise Him that Alberto died quickly, exactly in the spot where his heart had been for more than a quarter of a century." NUMBER 19 APRIL 2001 CCI ASSOCIATION Mexicos Mr Christian Camping dies of heart attack , aged 58 When Alberto Rojano died suddenly in March, Christian camping in Latin America lost a much-loved leader and CCIs International Counsel lost an important member. O n Saturday March 24 th , Alberto Rojano suffered a fatal heart attack in his beloved Camp Kikoten in Mexico. He was 58, had served for several terms as President of CCI/Latin Americas Board of Directors, was an active board member of CCI Latin America/Mexico, and a member of the CCI International Counsel. He was also very active in his local Presbyterian church. Alberto and his wife Nohemi were at Camp Kikoten to say good-bye to participants in CCI/LAs two-week Institute for Training Instructors. Although he had felt ill during the previous week, he had not complained of any pains related to heart problems, so his death was a shock to everyone.
