Abstract: . . . pharmacological and clinical studies, is be- coming increasingly important in this field, since it di- minishes a variety of risk factors. The application of garlic beneficially influences the development of athero- sclerosis, and thus of coronary heart disease by signifi- cantly reducing the risk factors: high plasma lipids and their oxidation, calcium accumulation within the vascu- lar smooth muscle cells, arterial hypertension, serum fi- brinogen, and platelet . . . . . . average for the mixed collective, men and women, respectively, and was statistically significant with p < 0.0001. These results substantiated that not only a preventive but possibly also a curative role (plaque regression) in arteriosclerosis therapy may be ascribed to garlic remedies. . . . --980,2,245,983,4901
